The BC Itinerant TDHH Conference 2018 is sponsored by the Surrey School District in collaboration with the Provincial Outreach Program: Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  Take this opportunity to meet with your colleagues from across the province and network with other professionals.  This is a busy day full of interesting presentations and updates.

Drisana Levitzke-Gray

  • Drisana will share her remarkable story, and how it has shaped the way she advocates for herself and others. Come and learn about the inspiring work that Drisana is performing in Australia to advance language development, identity, and advocacy among children, youth, and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Dan Paccioretti
  • Dan will provide a comprehensive overview of the information Phonak presented last October at The Unilateral Hearing Loss Conference in Philadelphia. Come and learn about the many exciting and innovative developments in technology.
Gael Hannan
  • Gael will be sharing her fascinating journey with hearing loss. Come and experience how Gael uses self-expression coloured with humour to empower herself and others.




Drisana Levitzke-Gray

Young Australian of the Year 2015

Drisana Levitzke-Gray is the recipient of the 2015 Young Australian of the Year Award and WA Young Australian of the Year Award in recognition of her passion and dedication in advocating for the human rights of deaf people, raising awareness about Auslan (Australian Sign Language), and the right of deaf children in Australia to access Auslan from birth. She works as a Motivational Speaker, Auslan and accessibility Consultant and provides workshops on various topics.

Gael Hannan

Hearing Loss Advocate, Writer, Speaker, Humourist

Gael Hannan is an advocate, writer, performer, and author of The way I hear it: a life with hearing loss. Hearing loss is not funny - but Gael Hannan asserts that a sense of humour makes living with it easier. Gael Hannan describes her hearing loss in many ways, and when she wants to make it short and snappy, she describes herself as a “HoH”, short for Hard of Hearing.  Gael and her Hearing Husband Doug, have one son, Joel, and they divide their time between Ontario and Canada’s west coast.

Dan Pacc

Daniel Paccioretti

Audiologist, Phonak Canada

Dan Paccioretti is an Audiologist and the Western Canada Roger/FM Sales Manager for Phonak Communications AG. Dan has over 37 years of experience working with FM technology for both children and adults. Dan will be retiring this spring. Dan is a member of the BC Association of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA) and the Canadian Association of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA). Dan holds a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from San Francisco State University. 



Slides will be available to participants after the conference.
